It will only include information such as name, year of birth, category, occupation, schools attended and the respective grades and qualifications obtained, experience and commitment.

Full profiles of tutors will only be made accessible to the management team and coordinators who need the information to shortlist tutors and to contact tutors with regard to the tuition requests.

Tuition Plus will not be liable for any loss arising from your failure to comply with the Terms & Conditions.

Certificates & Qualifications

Tutors are required to provide their grades, schools attended and qualifications obtained when registering as a tutor at Tuition Plus.

Tutors will also be encouraged to email scanned copies of their certificates to Tuition Plus for further verification of their qualifications.

Tuition Assignments

Tuition Plus will provide details of tuition assignments to tutors at the agency's best knowledge. Tuition assignments will be posted online at the 'Assignments' page at Tuition Plus. At the same time, service coordinators will also call or send a message to tutors regarding the new assignments that are available.

Tutors are responsible for the exact details and requirements before accepting the assignment.

Tutors can indicate their interest in the tuition assignments by requesting to take up the assignment or by replying service coordinators regarding the assignment.

However, Tuition Plus does not guarantee that tutors will receive the tuition assignment. This is subject to clients' requirements and preference.

Confirmation of assignment & legal obligations

When a tuition assignment has been confirmed, confirmation emails will be sent out to both parties: clients and tutors. This confirmation email will serve as a reminder of the terms and conditions stated in this document, and it will also include full details of the assignment.

Upon receiving the confirmation email, tutors are deemed to have accepted to be legally bounded by the Terms & Conditions stated in this document. Failure to comply with the Terms & Conditions will lead to legal actions taken by Tuition Plus. Hence, tutors are reminded to take note of the Terms & Conditions and to ensure their availability before confirming that they are able to commit to the assignment.

After the tuition assignment has been confirmed, tutors who back-out from the assignment for any reason or fail to turn up for the first lesson will be required to pay an administration fee to Tuition Plus due to the costly advertising, our coordination effort, as well as the loss of credibility towards clients. This can arise from a few scenarios: (1) Tutors knowingly accepted the assignment but decided to reject it after any time after confirmation or (2) Tutors failed to turn up for the first lesson without any valid reason, and (3) Tutors changed the agreed timing for the first lesson more than once, resulting in clients' complaints.

Personal commitments will not be acceptable reasons. It is important for tutors to honor the legal obligations as stated in the Terms & Conditions at all times. The amount of administration fee will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and not going beyond a maximum of SGD$50.

At the same time, tutors who back-out or fail to turn up for the first lesson will have their profiles permanently removed from Tuition Plus. This is necessary to ensure both the quality of our services and the credibility of our agency.

Once the tuition assignment is confirmed, the rate of the tuition assignment is non-negotiable.

Commission

Tuition Plus will collect 50% of the tuition fees for the first month as commission upon the completion of 4, 8, 12 or 16 lessons depending on the frequency of the tuition assignment.

For example, if the tuition assignment is based on a frequency of two lessons per week, there will then be a total of 8 lessons for the first month, and Tuition Plus will collect 50% of the tuition fees for 8 lessons.

By default, Tuition Plus will collect commission payment directly from clients. Tutors are not allowed to collect commission payment directly from clients, unless under special circumstances.

Commission payment is levied on tutors. Hence, tutors should expect to receive the remaining 50% of the first month's tuition fees at the end of the last lesson for the first month. (For example, tutors will receive payment on the 8th session if based on a frequency of two lessons per week)

If a tuition assignment is cancelled by the client before tutors complete the agreed number of lessons for the first month, Tuition Plus will take 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered for our coordination effort.

The first month's tuition fees is based on 4 weeks of lessons and not based on the calendar month.

If lessons are postponed (due to any reason from any party), the postponed lessons are not counted in the commission payment. For example, if the frequency of the tuition assignment is based on two lessons per week – twice per week and 2 lessons had been cancelled due to family overseas trip or holidays, Tuition Plus will still collect based on 8 lessons and not 6 lessons.

During the first month, tutors are not allowed to conduct any form of private or financial transaction with clients without prior knowledge and approval of Tuition Plus. This includes undertaking of any tuition subjects which may jeopardize the interest of Tuition Plus. Tutors who have breached the Terms & Conditions will be liable for the full financial losses incurred and will have their accounts removed.

Tutors are thus responsible to inform Tuition Plus in the event that lessons are postponed, or when the frequency and duration of lessons have been changed.

During the first month, tutors are not allowed to change the frequency and duration of the tuition assignment once confirmed.

Cancellation of Assignment

Clients reserve the right to cancel or withdraw his/her tuition requests or assignments at any point of time.

Tuition Plus will not be liable for any issues arising from the cancellation of tuition assignments by clients.

If the cancellation of assignments by clients was due to tutors' misconduct (such as dishonesty, false qualifications and certificates, frequent changes in timings, being consistently late for lessons, rudeness, etc), clients reserve the right not to pay tutors.

In the event that a tutor has decided to stop teaching the student (after the first month), he/she is responsible to inform Tuition Plus at least one week beforehand so that we will be able to find a replacement tutor to take over the current tuition assignment.

Discipline/Conduct of tutors

Tutors are reminded to be at their best and display good conduct as they will be monitored in several areas, such as punctuality, responsibility and honesty.

Complaints & Grievances

All complaints lodged by clients against the tutors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and tutors will be given a chance to dispute the complaints.

Legal

Legal actions will be taken against tutors who have breached the Terms & Conditions, in which, tutors will be liable for any additional legal costs and charges.

Disclaimer
