Assignment Details 

Clients (parents/students) are required to provide accurate details during their request for tutors. 

Tutors' Profiles

Upon receiving clients' requests, our coordinators will shortlist available tutors and send their profiles over to clients for viewing. 

Tuition Plus attempts to ensure that the profiles are as accurate as possible, but does not guarantee that the tutors' profiles are complete, current, or free of errors (for example, typographical errors). 

Availability of Tutors

As tutors' schedules are subject to changes, Tuition Plus does not guarantee the availability of tutors if clients respond or reply after 3 days. The availability of tutors by then would be based on their latest schedules. 

Clients are encouraged to respond to our coordinators in the earliest time possible. If clients are unable to view the tutors' profiles due to any reason (for example, due to work or travel), clients are required to inform our coordinators beforehand. 

Tuition Rates

The tuition rates, as stated in our website, are obtained from current market prices and our tutors' recent quotations. It is subject to changes and should serve only as a guide. 

The rate quoted by each tutor is different, depending on their qualifications and experience. For example, school teachers usually charge a higher rate compared to undergraduate/graduate tutors as they have been trained by the National Institute of Education (NIE). 

Our coordinators will try to match tutors whose rates are within the budget stated by clients. However, this is subject to tutors' acceptance of the stated rates, with consideration of factors such as their qualifications, experience, convenience of location, etc. 

Venue of lesson

Tutors will conduct lessons at clients' residences unless otherwise stated. 

Confirmation of Assignment

When the tuition assignment has been confirmed, clients are legally bounded by the Terms & Conditions stated in this document. 

Both parties (clients and tutors) will then receive an email consisting of the full details of the assignment. This email will also serve as a reminder of the terms and conditions stated in this document. 

The tuition rates are non-negotiable after the assignment is confirmed. 

Cancellation of Assignment / Change of Tutor

If clients are not satisfied with the tutor, our coordinators will replace the existing tutor at no additional charge. 

Clients are required to pay tutors the respective tuition fees (Tuition rate x Duration of each lesson x Number of lessons given) prior to termination.

Service

Tuition Plus does not guarantee improvement in the students' grades, but strives to ensure that tutors guide students towards greater academic excellence. Stringent screening and selection procedures have been put in place to ensure that clients engage only tutors of the highest calibre. 

Commission Payment

Tuition Plus collects tuition fees for the first two weeks of lessons as commission for services rendered (50% of the first month's tuition fees). Commission is levied on tutors; therefore clients do not need to pay any additional amount.

Clients are to note that the first month's tuition fees are based on 4 weeks of lessons rather than the calendar month. For example, if the assignment is based on two lessons per week, Tuition Plus will collect commission on the fourth lesson. 

An invoice will be sent to clients on the second week of lessons by post or email, depending on clients' preferences. Payment should be made within one week from the date of invoice. 

By default, Tuition Plus collects commission payment directly from clients. Tutors are not allowed to collect commission payment directly from clients, unless under special and mutually agreeable circumstances in which both parties - clients and tutors, are aware of. 

If an assignment is cancelled by clients before tutors complete the agreed number of lessons for the first month, Tuition Plus will still take 50% of the tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered as commission for our coordination efforts. 

If tutors withdraw from the assignment before they complete the agreed number of lessons for the first month, full tuition fees for the total number of lessons delivered will be payable to Tuition Plus. We will collect this amount directly from clients. 

If lesson(s) are postponed (due to any reason from any party), the postponed lesson(s) will not be counted in the commission payment. For example, if the assignment is based on two lessons per week and one lesson had been postponed due to family overseas trip or holidays, Tuition Plus will still collect commission based on 8 lessons and not 7 lessons.

In the event of any changes, clients are encouraged to inform Tuition Plus of the changes. This includes postponed lessons and changes in frequency/duration of lessons. 

During the first month, tutors will not be allowed to change the frequency and duration of the confirmed tuition assignment without informing Tuition Plus.

Typographical errors in invoices

In the event that there are typographical errors in invoices, Tuition Plus will resend a new invoice over to clients.

Disclaimer

Tuition Plus will also not be held responsible for any injuries, damages, disputes, conflicts, claims or losses of any kind that arise between tutors and clients. We can only offer our views or suggestions and will not act as an arbitrator or mediator.

Tuition Plus will not be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive or consequential damages arising from the use of this website.
